Level II Building Technology Technician
260 Days - 7.5 Hours Per day
OverviewTo establish a high level of customer-driven technical support in a team environment.
Qualification- 5 years of computer-related experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with end-user technical support in a responsive, helpful, courteous, positive attitude, and tactful manner leading to timely and appropriate resolution or escalation.
- Experience working with children is preferred.
- Wide range of computer hardware and software experience in a networked environment and a willingness to learn new technologies as they are introduced to schools.
- Demonstrated knowledge of asset management, basic applications including, word processing and spreadsheets.
- Demonstrated ability to work with students on a variety of technology tools; including productivity suites, learning applications, and web-based software.
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated project management and implementation skills
- Ability to solve higher-level issues and deal with a variety of variables in situations that require decision-making.
- Follow all rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines of Wawasee Community School Corporation along with state and federal regulations pertaining to school/technology issues.
- Responds and submits to tickets via the Helpdesk and is responsible for Level I escalated issues. Escalate issues to the next level of technical support for all technical difficulties beyond means or capabilities.
- Responds to critical building and district-wide issues
- Ensure device technologies and related equipment in the school are working properly; arrange for needed maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with device technology and other equipment; assist users with full utilization of hardware and software.
- Maintain an asset inventory and records of technology equipment.
- Troubleshoot and maintain all student, staff, and faculty applications
- Setup, install, and test Chromebooks, and workstations, printers, and peripherals.
- Install, test, and troubleshoot software applications, being conscious of software requirements, license restrictions, and end-user needs.
- Maintain personal and professional technical skills, keep up with current trends and bring that knowledge forward for the Corporation’s good.
- Help manage and coordinate online testing.
- Cooperate and coordinate with other members of the technology team.
- Extensive knowledge in Skyward, Meraki/Cisco, Google Chrome, Papercut, Veeam, and Microsoft Windows Client and Server Operating Systems.
- Make recommendations of current and future systems.
- Good working knowledge of networking systems.
- Identify Faculty and Staff for further technology training
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as may be requested by the Director of Technology, Principal, or the Superintendent.
