Implementation Design Lead

Overview

We are looking for a Manhattan WMS Implementation Design Lead to oversee the design and deployment of Manhattan Warehouse Management System (WMS) solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Manhattan WMS, strong leadership skills, and experience in end‑to‑end implementation projects, including design, configuration, and integration. This is onsite position in Whiteland, IN.

• Lead the solution design phase for Manhattan WMS implementations, ensuring alignment with business requirements and operational processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional and technical designs.
• Develop high‑level and detailed design documents, including workflows, configurations, and integration points.
• Oversee system configuration and ensure adherence to Manhattan best practices.
• Work closely with development teams for customizations and integrations with ERP, TMS, and other systems.
• Conduct design workshops, gap analysis, and provide recommendations for process improvements.
• Support testing phases (unit, integration, UAT) and resolve design‑related issues.
• Provide post‑implementation support and ensure smooth transition to operations.
• Mentor and guide junior team members on Manhattan WMS design principles.

• Proven experience in customized Manhattan WMS implementation (Active, SCALE).
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
• Expertise in functional design, configuration, and integration of Manhattan WMS.
• Familiarity with SQL, PL/SQL, and data mapping for WMS integrations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead workshops and drive consensus on design decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Knowledge of cloud‑based WMS deployments.
• Familiarity with RF devices, labor management, and slotting optimization.
• Experience in Agile or Waterfall project methodologies.
• Previous experience in 3PL or large‑scale distribution environments.
• Experience in AS400 (IBM iSeries).

The Implementation Design Lead (IDL) I is the technical resource on multiple projects, supporting Implementation Analysts developing technical requirements, testing, configuration, and technical readiness of the system.

• Participate on suppliers, inputs, process, outputs, and customers (SIPOC) and business requirements on the IT project
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into detailed Warehouse Management System (WMS) system designs and configurations
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define functional and technical specifications for the WMS implementation
• Identify risks and issues related to the WMS implementation and devise mitigation strategies
• Serve as internal technical leader, partnering with product team on setup/design phases and provide configuration and design direction to ensure project standardization.

• Participate in development of concept of systems development, software demonstration, preparation, and execution.
• Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to customize and integrate the WMS system with existing business processes and infrastructure
• Support and ensure quality of predefined IT solutions as selected to support business needs, including system setup, testing, training, implementation and post‑implementation support of the predefined IT solution(s) such as WMS into a new or existing client site(s).
