Network Deployment Technician, DCC Communities

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Network Deploy Technician to join our Infrastructure Operations team. In this role you will work largely independently in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment to maintain and expand our next‑generation network infrastructure.

• Manage work and prioritize through a ticketing system to complete customer requests and project deliverables.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to remove project obstacles and enable smooth execution.
• Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues including patch panels and patch cords.
• Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure proper hardware racking/stacking for new equipment.
• Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
• Track network rack intake and delivery, request rack space, power, and cooling, and partner with engineers to ensure configurations are ready.
• Support console and room builds, and work with ‑Scaling peers to build higher‑level networking devices.
• Travel within and outside the regional work area as required; personal vehicle and driver's license are necessary.

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
• Work in an environment that operates 24/7, including primary responder rotation and after‑hours support.
• Operate in cramped, elevated, and noisy environments.
• Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
• Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.

• 1+ years of computer networking experience.
• 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.

• Experience working in cramped or elevated spaces while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
• Strong customer interaction skills and ability to operate efficiently under pressure.
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
• Knowledge of cabling infrastructure best practices.
• Experience in a data center environment (racking, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
• Industry standard certification (CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+).
• Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools such as telnet, tracert, iperf, dig, and packet capture tools.
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP.
