The Systems Administrator is a highly skilled IT engineer focused on the Microsoft 365 E5 suite, including Azure AD / Entra , Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune, Defender, Power Platform, and related technologies. The role requires expertise in both cloud and on-premises management across Azure, Microsoft Server, Cisco, Linux, disaster recovery, high availability, and business continuity planning. A proactive mindset, excellent problem‑solving skills, and the ability to mentor a team of engineers are essential.

Duties
  • Oversee the configuration, administration, and optimization of the Microsoft 365 suite, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Defender, Azure AD / Entra , and Power Platform
  • Regularly audit systems to ensure they are designed and operating according to current best practices
  • Manage mobile device policies and provisioning with Intune, as well as lifecycle management of Teams and SharePoint sites
  • Administer Exchange Online, including mail security (SPF, DMARC, DKIM) and protection against spam, malware, and phishing
  • Implement Single Sign‑On for enterprise‑wide applications using Microsoft Azure AD / Entra
  • Manage servers, including latest Windows Server versions, Linux, and appliance‑based virtual machines
  • Design, deploy, and administer HyperV virtualization systems in on‑premises data centers
  • Design and deploy cloud‑based virtualization environments, including Microsoft Azure
  • Deploy, manage, and analyze infrastructure‑wide monitoring tools to ensure optimal system operation
  • Design and maintain internal networks for both data centers and branch offices
  • Manage Cisco / Meraki firewalls, routers, and switches
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network‑related issues, analyzing root causes to ensure design resiliency
  • Oversee circuit management and vendor coordination
  • Manage internal telephony via Cisco and Teams
  • Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR), High Availability (HA), and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) strategies for critical systems
  • Ensure backup and archiving strategies are appropriately deployed across platforms
  • Conduct regular testing and drills to validate the effectiveness of DR, HA, and BCP plans
  • Assist the IT security team with day‑to‑day security and compliance tasks
  • Lead the vulnerability management program’s patching design, implementation, and monitoring
  • Manage multi‑factor authentication technologies
  • Implement processes and systems in alignment with existing compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Design, develop, and maintain IT integrations such as HR IS platform to Microsoft Azure AD / Entra
  • Automate user onboarding and off‑boarding through scripting
  • Act as an escalation point for the help desk team on complex trouble tickets
  • Assist in the design and implementation of automated configuration for both Windows and Mac endpoints
  • Manage branch office networking, printing, and physical security
  • Collaborate with business and IT teams to ensure designs meet requirements
  • Develop documentation of processes and knowledge‑base articles for systems as they are designed and deployed
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, programming, information security, or a related field
  • Equivalent work experience or certifications may be considered
  • 3–5 years of systems administration experience with a strong focus on M365 E5
  • Team mentoring or leadership experience
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving and analytical skills
  • Expert level knowledge of DNS, DHCP, certificates, SMTP, SNMP, SSL, SSH, DMARC, DKIM, SPF, web and application hosting, virtualization, and physical security
  • In‑depth knowledge of Cisco networking, including routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Experience with integration development and maintenance, including scripting and programming
  • Proficiency in HyperV virtualization and Azure cloud services
  • Expertise in Disaster Recovery (DR), High Availability (HA), and Business Continuity Planning (BCP)
  • Mac management experience
  • Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficient, or able to gain proficiency with, a broad array of platforms and tools
