What You'll Be Doing
You will work in our Infrastructure Hosting Platform area, influencing the strategy, engineering, and development of storage computing capabilities for on‑premise and cloud hosting. As one of the senior storage platform engineers, you will collaborate with the global storage product owner on storage strategy for on‑premises private cloud and public IaaS storage services.
You will help improve cloud storage infrastructure, aiming to increase availability, reliability, and observability, and will provide guidance to global SME and outsourced teams for daily operations.
How You’ll Succeed- Be Bold – Bring high learning agility and infrastructure availability and reliability engineering skills to help enable the Lilly technology strategy, identify tech opportunities, and accelerate the cloud journey.
- Be Fast – Accelerate initiatives in areas such as AI/ML acceleration, infrastructure AI‑OPS automation, cloud IaaS management, and cloud infrastructure as code to enable critical business projects.
- Be Proactive – Build secure, resilient, and reliable hybrid cloud services using proactive, predictive, and automated capabilities.
- Be Your Best – Learn about new technologies, AI/ML‑based HPC, large‑scale GPU clustering, infrastructure as code, enterprise‑scale hyper‑cloud providers, agile ways of working, and become an expert.
- Technical expertise and leadership to turn ideas and concepts into solutions; experience with Dell SAN and NAS storage, Linux, or cloud certifications is a bonus.
- Leadership experience developing new enterprise‑grade infrastructure solutions and leading deployments at multiple global locations.
- Familiarity with storage technologies, including design and implementation of geographically dispersed setups.
- Strong hands‑on experience troubleshooting and administering storage systems with automated infrastructure availability and resiliency at enterprise scale, including AI/ML frameworks.
- Experience managing, optimizing, and upgrading backup environments and schedules, with a focus on Dell backup solutions such as Data Domain, PPDM, and Avamar.
- Knowledge and experience using configuration management and automation tools such as Git, Jenkins, Ansible, or Puppet.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Bash, Python, or equivalent.
- A consistent track record of high quality, agile‑focused, team‑based solution delivery.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, working across global and diverse teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years’ experience as a Storage Engineer or Platform OS Engineer with storage experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading a global large‑scale infrastructure project.
- Hybrid role located in Indianapolis, IN (relocation required).
- 5% travel.
- Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis. Lilly will not sponsor work authorization or visas for this role.
The anticipated wage for this position is $64,500 – $158,400 annually. Full‑time equivalent employees are also eligible for a company bonus.
