Network Security Engineer

We’re looking for a Network Security Engineer to take ownership of our network defenses and help us stay ahead of an increasingly complicated threat landscape. You’ll design, deploy, and maintain the systems that protect our data and operations, working hands‑on with tools like Cisco, Palo Alto, and Zscaler while partnering across teams to build security into how we operate, not just bolt it on afterward.

This is a role for someone who thinks critically, isn’t afraid of ambiguity, and holds themselves to a high bar. Our environment runs at the standards you’d expect from a major financial institution, so accountability and follow through matter here.

• Build and maintain network security policies that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Deploy and configure Cisco security appliances, Palo Alto firewalls, and Zscaler infrastructure across the organization
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to understand business and technical needs across a mixed cloud, on‑prem, and SaaS environment, keeping data confidential, intact, and available
• Spot gaps in security processes, policies, and technology, and lead the initiatives to fix them
• Deploy and support IPS, WAF, and network detection and response solutions
• Manage security monitoring tools for real‑time threat detection and response
• Tune security configurations to balance performance needs with resilience against emerging threats
• Build automation and scripts to streamline security testing, validation, and recurring tasks
• Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends
• Take ownership of projects end to end, from proposing solutions to driving them to completion

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field
• 7+ years in information security, with a strong focus on network security, firewalls, and secure perimeter technology
• Solid working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Familiarity with security frameworks like NIST, ISO, CIS, or MITRE ATT&CK
• Hands‑on experience with tools across the SIEM, CASB, CSPM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and DLP landscape
• Scripting ability in Python, Power Shell, or Shell
• Experience with cloud native networking and security in Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Working knowledge of modern container orchestration
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Ansible
• Strong communicator who can work independently or alongside engineering, ops, and infrastructure teams
• Comfortable serving as a mentor or subject matter expert to others on the team
