This position provides staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology. Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines. Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve problems. The employee in this position also assists in the maintenance and testing of network servers and associated equipment.
The position’s responsibilities require independent analyses, communication and problem solving.

- End User Support (50%)
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems
- On-call when needed
- Training staff
- Using IT Support Request system to document, prioritize, and track requests.
- Routine Maintenance (30%)
- Installing/configuring new computers/servers
- Repairing/upgrading hardware and software
- Supports administration of servers
- Troubleshooting printers/scanners/fax machines/copiers
- Manage user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus, anti-spam.
- Maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies
- Assesses functional needs to determine specifications for purchases
- Infrastructure Support (20%)
- Building and installing cables
- Running hospital cabling
- Researching, learning, and evaluating new software
- Documenting systems
