This role is responsible for Level 2 technical escalation, Azure infrastructure administration, Microsoft 365 and Entra , SQL administration, disaster recovery planning and testing, public DNS and SSL/TLS administration, and secure operation of business-critical systems. Early priorities for this role include building and testing disaster recovery runbooks, supporting consolidation of SQL data warehouse environments, and improving the security posture and operational readiness of internally developed application platforms.
The ideal candidate can independently support production systems, troubleshoot complex issues, maintain reliable and secure operations, and help Bottleless Nation scale its technology environment through strong documentation, governance, and operational discipline.
- Maintain disaster recovery plans, procedures, and operational runbooks
- Monitor backup jobs, retention policies, and recovery readiness
- Plan, execute, and document disaster recovery testing
- Validate recovery procedures against business requirements
- Recommend improvements to resilience, availability, RTO, and RPO objectives
- Maintain documentation of critical systems, dependencies, recovery order, and recovery contacts
- Administer Azure virtual machines, storage, networking, backups, monitoring, and security configurations
- Maintain Windows Server and cloud-hosted infrastructure
- Manage patching, system maintenance, alerts, and performance issues
- Maintain infrastructure documentation, diagrams, standards, and operational runbooks
- Support privileged access administration and secure cloud resource configuration
- Assist with automation, environment standardization, and operational process improvement
- Administer SQL Server and Azure SQL environments
- Monitor database backups, restores, availability, and performance
- Maintain SQL security, permissions, and access controls
- Support reporting, analytics, data warehouse, and application teams as required
- Support SQL data warehouse consolidation, standardization, and documentation efforts
- Resolve escalated user, device, application, identity, and connectivity issues
- Support Microsoft 365, Entra , VPN access, Windows endpoints, and business applications
- Investigate root causes and implement long-term fixes
- Mentor Level 1 support staff and improve knowledge base documentation
- Coordinate escalations with vendors, internal teams, and business stakeholders
- Administer user provisioning, role changes, group membership, application assignments, and access removal
- Support SSO, enterprise applications, privileged roles, and role-based access models
- Perform periodic access reviews for critical systems and applications
- Maintain documentation of access models, approval processes, and privileged access assignments
- Apply least-privilege principles across infrastructure, SaaS platforms, integrations, and business applications
- Administer public DNS zones and records for company-owned domains
- Manage DNS records supporting Microsoft 365, websites, email authentication, and business applications
- Maintain SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX, TXT, CNAME, and related DNS configurations
- Manage SSL/TLS certificates for websites, APIs, application platforms, and cloud services
- Monitor certificate lifecycle and coordinate timely renewals
- Enforce secure HTTPS configurations and encryption standards
- Troubleshoot DNS resolution, certificate trust, and HTTPS access issues
- Support domain registration, DNS hosting, and migration activities
- Monitor infrastructure, applications, backups, endpoints, and security alerts
- Triage incidents and coordinate response across vendors and internal teams
- Document incident timelines, root cause, corrective actions, and lessons learned
- Maintain alert thresholds, escalation paths, and response procedures
- Recommend improvements to reduce repeat incidents and improve system visibility
