Location: Fort Branch
An industrial manufacturer near Fort Branch, Indiana
, is looking for an IT Network Specialist to support their operations. The ideal candidate will have an educational background in Information Technology or Computer Engineering, and the ability to work hands-on to support network and technology system development, implementation, and everyday troubleshooting.
This is a full-time, direct-hire position with complete benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurances, 401(K) with company matching, and more.
IT Network Specialist Responsibilities:- Assist with everyday business technology applications and support, including creating network security protocols, server maintenance, managing software installation, and resolving tickets
- Support a global IT team with implementation, daily operations and maintenance of company’s enterprise technology management systems, integrating machine and PLC programming with networked applications
- Implement, and support complex network infrastructure including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), and VPN (Virtual Private Network) configurations
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technology issues on company equipment and software programs, including Microsoft 365 troubleshooting
- Ensure security checks are run consistently and support file backup structure
- Assist as needed with testing, documentation, and training during trials or implementation of new computer systems or software packages
- Maintain technical documentation consistently, making sure it is easy to access and review
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required, associate’s or higher education preferred. Relevant experience will also be considered.
- Ability to configure and secure wired and wireless networks, and configure VPN, firewalls, and Ethernet
- Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues efficiently while maintaining documentation of configurations and procedures.
- Knowledge of computer networking and integration with other interconnected systems, including virtualization platforms (VMware) and SCADA systems (i.e., Ignition, Wonder Ware)
- Experience with SQL server management and querying
- Basic familiarity with ERP systems (i.e. Oracle/JD Edwards)
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities as needed
- This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear.
You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
