Executive Underwriter OR AVP, Underwriting Director- Surety

Overview

Zurich North America is seeking an Executive Underwriter or AVP, Underwriting Director to join our large account contract space. Location options include Columbus, Indianapolis, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Schaumburg, or Wisconsin. This is a highly technical and market-facing role requiring experience with Surety lines of business. Travel is approximately 20-25%.

• Production and underwriting of new and renewal Surety business
• Managing a large book of prominent accounts
• Internal marketing and production within Zurich North America to support cross-sell efforts
• Execution of the external marketing strategy
• Adherence to underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and the Zurich Way of underwriting
• Establish new and develop existing agency and broker relationships
• Work within limits and authorities on assignments of varying degrees of complexity

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5+ years in underwriting, market facing, finance, accounting, or banking, or 10+ years in claims or underwriting support, or Zurich Apprenticeship program with associate degree and 3+ years in underwriting-related area, or with 8+ years in claims or underwriting support area
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience working under time constraints for quotes on new and renewal business
• Experience working in a team environment

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 7+ years in underwriting, market facing, finance, accounting, or banking, or 14+ years in claims or underwriting support, or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 5+ years in underwriting-related area, or 12+ years in claims or underwriting support area
• Experience with Microsoft Office

Your pay is based on role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The combined salary range for this position is $98,500.00 - $. The proposed salary ranges by role are:
Executive Underwriter $98,500.00 - $ (with 30% Global Specialty Incentive Plan bonus eligibility); AVP, Underwriting Director $ - $ (with 40% Global Specialty Incentive Plan bonus eligibility).
