Job Description
A family owned and operated Distribution Business is looking for an Experienced Procurement Assistant with 5+ years of buying or purchasing experience. Distribution Industry experience is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with strategically sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory of paper, packaging, and janitorial products to support distribution operations.
- Negotiate with vendors, maintain market awareness, and balance cost control with service level requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Senior Buyer, sales, operations, and suppliers to ensure product availability, competitive pricing, and efficient inventory turnover.
- Build and maintain vendor relationships.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in the distribution industry.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Understanding of inventory management principles and demand forecasting.
