Experienced Procurement Assistant Distribution

Job Description

A family owned and operated Distribution Business is looking for an Experienced Procurement Assistant with 5+ years of buying or purchasing experience. Distribution Industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with strategically sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory of paper, packaging, and janitorial products to support distribution operations.
• Negotiate with vendors, maintain market awareness, and balance cost control with service level requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Senior Buyer, sales, operations, and suppliers to ensure product availability, competitive pricing, and efficient inventory turnover.
• Build and maintain vendor relationships.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in the distribution industry.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Understanding of inventory management principles and demand forecasting.
