Responsibilities
- Coordinate the documentation required by US Customs/Government Agencies for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers.
- Provide impeccable customer service.
- Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using database, SOPs, tariff book, internet or customs sources.
- Enter and process various import‑related documentation for submission to US Customs; manage limited PGA interactions.
- Maintain and keep all shipment documentation current, in compliance with record‑keeping requirements.
- Adhere to all international importing regulations.
- Collaborate with other internal staff and departments to deliver high‑level service to customers.
- Process agency brokerage shipments and ensure all government and organizational policies are followed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required; no industry or work experience required.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience using computer systems in a professional, educational, or comparable environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle high volume, time‑sensitive work and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable using multiple systems and reference materials; able to interact with internal staff and management at all levels.
- Experience with customs or freight forwarding is a plus (not required).
Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Hybrid only). Candidates must live within a 50‑mile radius of 2349 Aviation Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46241. Mandatory overtime and company‑recognized holidays may be required during periods of high volume.
Pay$16.85 – $23.60 per hour.
