At JW Hicks, we are always looking for talented individuals to join our growing team in Knox, Indiana. JW Hicks is looking for a capable, motivated Purchasing Agent. We have a passion to produce the best refractory products on the market and are seeking individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit and heart for "Doing it Right."

• Order materials and services
• Manage purchasing information and systems
• Track receipts and evaluate supplier delivery performance
• Manage supplier relationships and service level agreements
• Administer purchasing contracts
• Monitor and manage raw material inventories
• Work with other departments to forecast required purchases
• Develop and maintain periodic reports as needed
• Perform other duties as requested by supervisor

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Effective interpersonal skills
• 2-3 years’ experience with above responsibilities
• Basic computer literacy and working knowledge of software programs commonly used in business
• Ability and willingness to learn
• Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment physical and drug screen prior to employment

• Strong organizational skills
• ERP experience
• Experience with computer spreadsheets and databases

Awareness of packaging and transportation regulations
