Job Summary:
- Manage purchasing and inventory needs by requisitioning materials, obtaining quotes, monitoring supplier deliveries, and maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Communicate with suppliers and internal teams regarding pricing, delivery schedules, shipment status, discrepancies, and quote requests.
- Maintain purchasing and supplier records, including vendor files, purchasing documentation, supplier performance, freight costs, and compliance records.
- Analyze and report supply chain data, including inventory, material usage, freight costs, supplier performance, and cost-reduction opportunities.
- Support the Materials Manager and scheduling team with customer service, scheduling coverage, work instructions, freight claims, reporting, and special projects.
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Position Type:Direct Hire
Schedule:Monday-Friday 7:30A – 4:30P
Pay:$50-60K annually
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree preferred, ideally in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience, with knowledge of scheduling processes.
- Previous experience in purchasing and/or scheduling, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using MRP systems and understanding of manufacturing/operations flow.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including creating and maintaining spreadsheets and linking supporting documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to analyze data, calculate costs, monitor inventory, and prepare reports.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team environment.
- Ability and willingness to work varying shifts/hours as needed.
