JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the daily management of the maintenance department. Due to the dynamic nature of our business, duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.

PRINCIPLE

ACCOUNTABILITIES Daily Managing
  • Follow-up regarding:
    Quality, Safety, Turnover, Sanitation
  • Cost-Containment / Efficiency of Materials
  • Maintain equipment in use in daily operation
  • Maintain Fresh Pack Equipment
  • Maintain facility - i.e. overhead doors, lighting, plumbing, & other building needs
  • Preventative Maintenance Programs - Administration
  • Parts/ Crib - inventory management
Communication with and guidance of Employees
  • On the floor
  • Trouble shooting with equipment & systems
  • Providing leadership with technical expertise
Project Work
  • Evaluation of new equipment, facilities, and repairs
  • Execution & Management of Capital Projects
Training/Leading
  • 3 Maintenance Shift Supervisors, 1 Maintenance Superintendent, 1 Waste Water Treatment Technician
  • Crib attendants
  • CMMS clerk
  • Purchasing clerk
Budgeting
  • Reports for equipment repairs & downtime
  • Projections for future breakdowns / rebuilds
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • 4 year Technical degree or equivalent
  • Certifications not required; however, certificates in the following areas are valuable:
    Government Approvals, Electrical, Boilers, Hydraulics, Chemical Handling, Programming, OSHA, Welding, Wastewater Treatment
  • 10 years' experience in any three (3) of the major areas listed below in a plant environment:
  • Facilities Management
  • Equipment Maintenance
  • Engineering
  • Project Leadership
  • Preventative Maintenance
Computer proficiency
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, & AutoCAM preferred
  • Electrical skills - knowledge of industrial electricity, Power Plant Administration
  • Mechanical skills - knowledge/ability in industrial mechanics
  • Welding skills - knowledge of
  • Knowledge of Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems

Direct: 25-35 Hourly Maintenance Employees and Supervisors

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Sitting- to complete a task at lower levels
  • Standing- to complete most all tasks
  • Walking
  • Climbing- to get to parts department, when using ladder, on equipment
  • Reaching- to perform activities, to get tools out of toolbox
  • Kneeling- to perform work activities at low levels
  • Crawling- to perform work activities under equipment
  • Squatting
  • Bending/stooping- to pick up tools or parts, to perform work tasks at lower levels or inside a machine
  • Twisting- to perform work activities
  • Pinch- to use tools, to manipulate wires
  • Grasping/handling- using tools, manipulating parts
  • Must be able to walk/stand on concrete floors & climb ladders without difficulty/pain
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to make repair equipment
