Full Time Custodian – Indianapolis Public Schools

Position available in Indianapolis Public Schools primarily responsible for cleaning, maintenance and ensuring a safe environment for staff and students.

• Cleaning designated areas of the building including vacuuming, wiping surfaces, mopping, etc.
• Set‑up of the school for daily activities and extracurricular activities.
• Respond to emergency calls and requests for help from building staff.
• Perform maintenance work & repairs.
• Follow O.S.H.A standards, keeping staff and student safety a priority.
• Work overtime as needed per the request of the building principal.
• Any other responsibilities assigned by school administration.

• Work experience in cleaning and/or basic maintenance.
• Ability to perform manual tasks and be on feet for a long period of time.
• Ability to supervise and communicate well with a team of employees.
• Be able to pass a background check to work with youth.
• Minimum education of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Value education and providing a safe/clean school environment.
