The Facilities Maintenance Assistant inspects campus systems including HVAC equipment, pumps, condensers, compressors, and electrical and water services. Duties include starting up, regulating, and shutting down equipment; monitoring meters, gauges, and computerized controls; watching machinery; recording data in logs; and identifying potential problems. The role requires readiness to learn new skills via on-the-job training and professional classes.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, be willing to work indoors and outdoors, tolerate confined spaces with temperature variations, and perform physically strenuous tasks such as walking, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Strong technical writing, verbal communication, interpersonal, problem‑solving skills, and computer proficiency are required.
