Compensation: $115,000–$140,000
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Work Environment: Fully In-Office (flexible scheduling within business hours)
About The OpportunityA growing and financially strong property management organization in Indianapolis is seeking a Controller to lead its accounting operations. The company oversees a portfolio of 20+ properties and continues to expand, offering a stable foundation and long-term growth potential.

Position SummaryThe Controller will oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring timely and accurate financials while supporting ownership, lenders, and external partners. This role manages three direct reports and plays a key part in maintaining strong internal controls and driving process improvements as the organization grows.
Key Responsibilities- Lead full-cycle accounting operations across a multi-property portfolio
- Oversee and ensure timely month-end and year-end close
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements
- Manage escrow reconciliations and resolve related issues
- Prepare financial reporting for banks and lenders; maintain loan covenant compliance
- Serve as liaison with external CPA firm for audit and tax matters
- Strengthen internal controls and accounting processes
- Supervise and develop 3 direct reports (AP and Payroll functions)
- Support strategic growth initiatives and operational efficiencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership
- Real estate or property management experience strongly preferred
- Experience working with lenders and external auditors
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting - Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically
