Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity is seeking to hire its next Executive Director!

Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity actively develops men to be effective leaders who passionately serve society, Fraternity and God.

The Executive shall be a full-time position within the management team and will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead, manage and hold accountable other full-time members of the staff team.
  • Lead, manage and hold accountable volunteers by elected leadership.
  • Develop strategies and processes to achieve the organizational goals.
  • Serve as liaison to key stakeholders including and not limited to board, committees, volunteers, members, community partners, and vendors.

The Executive is responsible for Executing Phi Kappa Theta’s Vision as defined in the strategic plan, The Next Chapter (TNC). The ED’s primary role is to lead the staff and volunteers to achieve key milestones and goals outlined in TNC.

  • Board Relations – Work closely with the Fraternity Board to set priorities and ensure Trustees are equipped with timely information so they may effectively carry out their governance and fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Volunteer Management – The ED has experience directing and recruiting volunteers to achieve defined goals.
  • Ability to work with volunteers to set a long-term vision and translate board priorities into actionable plans and long‑term vision.
Business Management
  • Business Management – Apply best practices in effective and efficient business management and ensure its strong financial position.
Team Management
  • Responsible for supporting the internal client team with the right information, tools, and resources to be successful.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), providing clarity and consistency as the team leader.
  • Hold team members accountable for their work.

Specific Competencies & Experience and Travel Requirement

Highly qualified candidates will also have these Fraternity-specific Competencies and Experiences required to be successful in this position.

Competencies and Experience
  • Higher Education and/or Greek Life – The ED has experience working within the higher education environment and/or within the larger Greek life community. Experience working with industry trade groups is preferred.
  • Fundraising – The ED has experience raising funds and cultivating donor relationships in occasional support of Foundation activities.
  • Risk Management – The ED is familiar with limiting risk within a membership organization and has experience dealing with liability insurance carriers and their processes.
  • Trade Group Experience – The ED has extensive association or nonprofit expertise. CAE or similar professional credentials are a plus.
