Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to be a partner with the industry by providing warehousing services that meet the customer’s expectations of quality in service, productivity and cost. Further, the Shipping/Receiving Manager will provide leadership through sustainment of all company policies and procedures.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.

  • General Policy
  • Responsible for supervision of Shipping and Receiving Department.
  • Assign work instructions to all employees in Shipping and Receiving.
  • Must ensure all Shipping and Receiving tow motor operators are chocking wheels of trailer before entering and that this information is being recorded on the chock block check-off sheet.
  • Dispatching of trucks when necessary.
  • Maintain in and out-bound daily log.
  • Work directly with Customer Service and Purchasing.
  • Organize and conduct year-end inventory.
  • Maintain the standardization and quality of incoming receipts of raw materials and scheduling.
  • Schedule inbound delivery appointments.
  • Ensure all incoming raw materials are properly labeled and received.
  • Responsible for accurate raw material product inventories.
  • Enter receivers and locations into system.
  • Coordinate the proper silo bulk loading and unloading.
  • Assist with the staging of raw material as required in the Warehouse areas.
  • Participation of the company’s cycle count program.
  • Ensure all Warehouse areas are neat and clean at all times.
  • Complete all required Warehouse paperwork as necessary.
  • Ensure time sheets are approved in Ravago’s payroll processing system each week.
  • Ensure time sheets for temporary employees are filled out correctly and turned in to HR each week.
  • Provide day to day leadership and direction to Warehouse receiving personnel.
  • Back up Shipping and Warehouse Manager when needed.
  • Follow all Quality, Safety and Environmental Procedures.
  • Uphold the Ravago Code of Conduct standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by Warehouse Manager.
Minimum Qualifications / Education / Experience / Certifications
  • Education:

    Must have High School diploma or of equivalent value.
  • Experience:

    Must have three years or more experience in a Warehouse environment.
  • Must have forklift license and be able to operate a forklift safely.
  • Ability to understand and follow the instructions with respect to internal and customer requirements.
  • Ability to read, speak and write English efficiently preferred.

  • All injuries regardless of severity must be reported to your Supervisor/HR immediately.
