YOUR ROLE
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Warehouse General Manager to lead day-to-day operations at our 1M+ sq. ft. contract logistics operations in McCordsville, IN. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations that meet customer and business expectations.
The ideal candidate brings solid experience in warehouse or distribution management, a commitment to operational excellence, and the ability to lead and motivate teams. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Warehouse Operations Management
- Oversee daily warehouse functions including receiving, inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Ensure operational targets for accuracy, productivity, cost, and service are consistently met.
- Own financial performance, including full P&L, budgeting, expense control, and profitability targets.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to promote consistency, safety, and efficiency.
- Optimize use of labor, equipment, and warehouse space to support throughput goals.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and support a team of warehouse operations managers, supervisors, leads, and hourly staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional corporate teams including transportation, procurement, HR, and customer service to optimize warehouse performance.
- Foster a positive, high-performance work environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Manage workforce planning, including staffing, training, and development programs.
Client & Internal Collaboration
- Serve as the primary contact for customer and internal stakeholder needs related to warehouse operations.
- Support client audits, reporting requirements, and service reviews.
- Partner with other departments (e.g., transportation, customer service, IT) to ensure seamless operations.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, inventory accuracy, and on-time shipments.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce costs using Lean or similar approaches.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Financial Oversight
- Manage site budget and cost controls, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising service or safety.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- 7+ years of progressive experience in warehouse or distribution center operations, with 3+ years in a senior leadership or multi-site role.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
- Solid understanding of warehouse safety regulations, OSHA standards, SOX (with quarterly reporting) and compliance requirements.
- Expert understanding of WMS systems, LMS, inventory management, and warehouse automation tools.
- Strong understanding of warehouse processes, inventory management, and operational metrics.
- Proven success leading large teams in a high-volume, fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Ability to build strong teams, improve processes, and deliver results.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.
