The Warehouse Supervisor – CL is responsible for executing the policies and procedures necessary to manage warehouse operations within the assigned facility. The role ensures that operational processes meet customer needs and internal requirements while maintaining a structured, efficient, and safe environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Lead equipment maintenance and safety programs at the facility.
- Track, maintain, and resolve issues related to assets—including handling equipment, storage media, building fixtures, IT equipment, and facility infrastructure.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- Keep abreast of customer scopes of work and immediately elevate any scope creep to management.
- Maintain knowledge of proper operating methods for equipment, such as forklifts, reach trucks, and manual lift devices.
- Utilize the WMS to query inventory, track transactions, run reports, and operate RF scanners.
- Record and retain inventory and item movement accurately; oversee cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Review and maintain records including bill of ladings, goods receipts, packing lists, and tally sheets to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Trace SKU history to identify discrepancies and recommend remedial actions.
- Assign and examine employee work for accuracy, neatness, and compliance with procedures.
- Prepare composite reports from subordinate reports.
- Review productivity, KPI, and quality reports to ensure team goals are met and take corrective steps when necessary.
- Implement and evaluate SOPs to achieve year‑over‑year growth targets and daily SLA goals.
- Maintain harmony among workers and resolve complaints.
- Support the Warehouse Manager in recruiting and interviewing new hires.
- Manage warehouse staff, including progressive discipline, payroll issues, and annual reviews.
- Track and catalog customer labor and space utilization for reporting.
- Develop and maintain efficient workflows, daily manpower plans, and schedules.
- Conduct daily operational kickoff and manpower planning meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Note:
Due to business necessity or if the facility is a shared CL and freight forwarding location, the employee may also need to maintain a basic understanding of TSA/DSA facility/security requirements and recordkeeping.
Supervises up to seven full‑time employees and up to seven temporary employees.
Education And/Or Experience- Associate’s degree (AA) from a two‑year college or equivalent work experience.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum five years’ experience in a distribution center with an international third‑party logistics company, previous team leader experience, and training experience.
- Preferred:
Two to three years of team lead experience in a warehouse and distribution center environment. - Working knowledge of various warehouse tools and equipment.
- Basic proficiency in operating a warehouse hand‑held device.
- Forklift certification required.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, basic inventory control, and domestic transportation documentation.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills a plus.
