Position Overview
This key role is responsible for leading and managing projects by guiding cross‑functional teams to deliver data‑driven solutions that enhance our operations, support decision‑making, and drive innovation. The projects facilitated by the Strategic Initiatives Group support operations‑based Cost/Span/Technology MoVE projects driving both near‑term schedule recovery and longer‑term production effectiveness. The group works closely with senior site leadership to develop new and creative ways to improve KPIs that support the business need.
LocationOn‑site in Mount Vernon, Indiana
Your Day to Day as a Strategic Initiatives Project Manager- Recognizes opportunities for operational/process improvement and develops MoVE projects to address through new technologies, data‑driven solutions, and collaboration
- Requires in‑depth understanding of concepts, theories and principles in manufacturing engineering and basic knowledge of shop floor front line management and other disciplines
- Leads teams and facilitates Cost/Span/Technology projects from initiation to completion
- Defines project scope and deliverables
- Develops detailed project plans, timelines, roadmaps, and budgets
- Manages project teams, assigning tasks, tracking progress, and identifying potential risks to mitigate issues proactively
- Collaborates with cross‑functional teams including engineering, operations, quality, planning, etc. to ensure project alignment
- Monitors project performance against established KPIs, identifies areas for improvement, and implements corrective actions
- Conducts regular project status updates with stakeholders, communicating progress and addressing concerns
- Present project status to peers and leadership by organizing presentation materials in a clear and concise manner
- Bachelor’s degree preferred;
Associate’s degree or technical school equivalent may be considered in lieu of 4‑year degree. - 8 years of experience with a technical degree, or 12 years with a non‑technical degree—
- At least two years experience in at least two areas:
Engineering, Finance/Accounting, Project Controls, Legal, or Procurement. - Six years of related project experience.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with developing, delivering, and maintaining training activities.
- Excellent organization and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required.

- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
- 3 years of experience in manufacturing.
- Previous experience in project management.

Pay: $99,000 – $157,000 per year (base salary range). Total compensation may include other elements such as an annual cash incentive, medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. The base salary offered is based on local job‑market factors and may vary depending on candidate qualifications and business considerations.
