Operations Manager - Floor; Grocery

Position Summary

The Operations Manager – Floor (Grocery) at Gas City, IN, oversees the day‑to‑day operations of the grocery floor, ensuring facility goals related to production, quality, safety, and operational improvements are met.

• Communicate with customers, suppliers, and associates verbally or in writing.
• Drive and implement the business plan for the area of responsibility to achieve facility goals and operational improvements.
• Forecast staffing, workload, and performance results to meet business demands.
• Prepare, review, and analyze business reports and use the information to identify operational improvements.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with logistics, quality, and safety standards, policies, procedures, and directives.
• Resolve associate, customer, and supplier concerns using judgment or consulting others when needed.
• Supervise and manage associates and leaders, providing direction, monitoring performance, and giving feedback.
• Identify training and development needs and provide opportunities for learning and growth.
• Recruit, hire, promote, coach, evaluate associates, leaders, and managers.
• Build high‑performing teams that embrace diversity and foster a culture of belonging.
• Operate with the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and compliance, modeling Walmart values and supporting a regenerative company culture.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management).
• 1 year experience in an operations, distribution, logistics, or retail environment supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and hiring and promoting employees across multiple departments/areas.
• OR 1 year experience as a Walmart Logistics Area Manager supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and hiring and promoting associates.
• OR 3 years experience in an operations, distribution, logistics, or retail environment supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and hiring and promoting employees across multiple departments/areas.

• Financial modeling and analysis.
