Position: VP Project Management (Healthcare)
Location: Indianapolis

We are exclusively representing one of the nation's leading healthcare Owner's Representative and Program Management firms in the search for a Vice President of Healthcare Project Management.

About the Role

This executive leadership position offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing team responsible for delivering complex healthcare capital programs for major health systems across the United States. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader with extensive experience overseeing large capital portfolios, developing executive-level client relationships, driving operational excellence, and contributing to business growth. This role is ideal for an experienced healthcare executive who combines strong operational leadership with commercial awareness and has a proven track record of delivering multimillion-dollar healthcare capital programs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide executive leadership across multiple healthcare capital programs and regional project portfolios.
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives that support operational excellence, client satisfaction, and sustainable business growth.
  • Serve as the executive point of contact for C-suite healthcare executives, governing boards, and senior client stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Directors, Senior Program Managers, Program Managers, and project support staff.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of healthcare projects from strategic planning and design through construction, activation, and occupancy.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive financial performance across the division, including forecasting, profitability, resource planning, and risk management.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships while supporting new business development initiatives.
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop long-term growth strategies and strengthen the firm's position within the healthcare sector.
  • Support major pursuits, interviews, presentations, and contract negotiations for healthcare clients nationwide.
  • Monitor portfolio performance through key metrics and provide executive reporting to both clients and internal leadership.
  • Champion a culture focused on collaboration, accountability, innovation, and exceptional client service.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within healthcare construction, capital project management, or owner's representation.
  • Demonstrated success leading large healthcare capital programs valued from tens of millions to several hundred million dollars.
  • Executive leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams across multiple geographic locations.
  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare planning, design, construction, commissioning, and facility activation.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L responsibilities, resource planning, and operational performance.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with hospital executives, healthcare systems, developers, and design/construction partners.
  • Experience negotiating contracts, managing enterprise risk, and resolving complex project challenges.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory environments, including AHCA, FGI Guidelines, Joint Commission standards, and other applicable healthcare construction requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, presentation, and executive stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with project management platforms such as e-Builder, Procore, Smartsheet, SharePoint, or similar enterprise systems.
