Firefly Home Care is looking for a strong, hands-on Area Manager to lead home care operations within an assigned service area.

This is a true management position not simply a scheduling or care coordination role. The Area Manager will lead caregivers, support clients and families, manage staffing and scheduling, address employee performance, solve operational problems, and take ownership of the overall success of their area.

Lead & Develop Your Team

• Provide direct leadership to caregivers and assigned employees

• Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable

• Coach, develop, and recognize team members

• Address attendance and performance concerns

• Participate in hiring, corrective action, and performance improvement plans

• Develop Team Leads and future leaders

• Support caregiver retention and engagement

Manage Scheduling & Staffing

• Ensure client shifts are appropriately staffed

• Manage call-offs, coverage issues, and caregiver availability

• Schedule new clients and manage caregiver time off

• Improve caregiver-client matching and continuity of care

• Anticipate staffing challenges before they become emergencies

• Monitor open and unfilled shifts

• Participate in the on-call rotation

Deliver an Exceptional Client Experience

• Build relationships with clients and families

• Participate in client intakes and care planning

• Coordinate services and communicate with clients, families, and providers

• Conduct supervisory visits and follow up on client needs

• Address complaints and service concerns

• Identify clients at risk for dissatisfaction or discharge

• Follow through to ensure concerns are resolved

Build a Strong Caregiving Workforce

• Participate in caregiver recruiting, interviewing, and hiring

• Support onboarding, skills validation, and training

• Address performance and training needs

• Support employee retention and workforce planning

• Partner with Human Resources and other Firefly leaders

Required:

• Leadership or supervisory experience

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Ability to manage competing priorities

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Comfort addressing employee performance concerns

• Solid computer and administrative skills

• Strong customer-service mindset

Preferred:

• Home care or healthcare administrative experience

• Experience managing frontline or field-based employees

• Previous management experience

• Experience with scheduling, staffing, or employee relations

• Education or credentials in healthcare, social work, gerontology, business, or a related field
