Purpose

To lead the company in all aspects of Environmental Affairs and Distribution, developing strategic vision and goals to ensure employee safety and environmental and regulatory responsibilities for the development, implementation and administration of comprehensive environmental compliance programs for the Company.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks Essential Functions

Practices the principles of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement under the GFSI guidelines.

Develops policies/procedures governing environmental, safety and distribution issues including Risk Management, Process Safety.

Assesses chemicals purchased comparing to EPA list/identifying hazardous chemicals and reporting appropriate information to EPS’ local fire department, local Emergency Planning Committee.

Develops procedures for safe handling of hazardous materials/training key personnel to respond correctly including wearing proper equipment/cleaning up in compliance with regulatory laws.

Directs distribution operations to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy, or timeliness objectives.

Meets with consultants to formulate strategies, monitor projects, and ensure goals are met.

Evaluates/assesses new regulatory mandates and their impact on Mays Chemical Company. Enforces compliance as necessary.

Oversees the environmental strategic support for the company.

Represents the company at hearing for various regulatory issues working with NACD to raise level of conscientiousness of the company.

Backup to the VP of Supply Chain Management (SQF Practitioner), Production Manager (SQF Practitioner) Warehouse Manager (SQF Practitioner), Warehouse Supervisors (SQF Practitioners) (NJ) and (71 st Street) Quality Assurance Food Safety Mgr. (SQF Practitioner).
