Location: Indianapolis

ISSI, a machine shop and engineering firm on the southwest side of Indianapolis, is looking for a CNC machinist to join our team.

This is a unique opportunity to manufacture production parts on a Haas VF3, Okuma lathes and Makino 4 axis horizontal and Makino 5 axis mills. All machines manufacture consistent and established production and job shop processes.

CNC Machinist Responsibilities

As a CNC Machinist, you will play a key role in the precision machining of high-quality parts. You’ll be responsible for machine setup, part inspection, and ensuring all work meets stringent quality standards. This position requires attention to detail, a solid understanding of CNC equipment, and a commitment to maintaining a productive and positive work environment.

  • Machine Setup and Operation
    • Set up CNC machines using provided setup sheets and tooling definitions.
    • Prove out programs, verify correct operation, and make necessary tool or offset adjustments during production.
    • Maintain tooling and ensure proper machine function throughout the job run.
  • Inspection and Documentation
    • Perform in-process and final inspections using Zeiss CMM or surface plate with appropriate gages and measurement tools.
    • Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and ensure all inspection documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Quality and Shop Environment
    • Follow and enforce quality control procedures to ensure all parts meet print specifications.
    • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented, and productive shop environment.

  • Minimum 3 years of machining experience.
  • Own basic machinist tools.
