Overview

- Operate and program manual and CNC machine tools, including lathes, mills, and grinders, for fabrication and repair tasks.
- Operate sheet metal equipment, welding systems, cutting torches, plasma cutters, and various electric and pneumatic hand tools.
- Develop models of mechanical parts and assemblies as required for fabrication or repair.
- Work with ferrous and non-ferrous metal alloys (e.g., aluminum, stainless steel, brass) and advanced materials such as composites and plastics.
- Safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment as required (license required).
- Ensure all machining work passes final Government Quality Assurance (QA) and acceptance inspection.
- Maintain documentation and records related to fabrication, material usage, and safety compliance.
- Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in machining or manufacturing preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in machining, fabrication, and mechanical repair.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Solid Works, Mastercam, AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of advanced materials fabrication.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials management and adherence to safety standards.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and setup (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, or similar controllers).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to precision and quality.
- Ability to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
