Manufacturing Technician
Spherion is hiring Manufacturing Technicians in Indianapolis, IN.
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Working Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday–Friday (first few weeks will include training 7:00 AM–7:30 PM Friday–Sunday)
Responsibilities- Set up and calibrate equipment for operation and testing to specification
- Adjust filler and labeler equipment with proper parts and settings for products to be portioned
- Assemble containers and components for the portioning process and assure they are correct
- Demonstrate expertise in Clean room/Aseptic environments, Equipment Preparation, Stopper Preparation, Inspection (semi-automated and manual), Packaging Operations, Sanitization of Classified Areas, and Operation of Autoclaves
- Maintain certification for entry into the Aseptic Core and keep it current
- Oversee activities of other members of the Manufacturing team, taking responsibility for the process results
- Make important decisions during processing independently while consulting management on critical issues
- Act as group lead in the absence of the supervisor (excluding formal disciplinary actions)
- Perform all duties as assigned by the supervisor independently
- Coordinate with the support group, issuance of components, and testing of in-process samples
- Write investigations when requested
- Perform final batch record reviews
- Write and revise area SOPs and batch records
- Place purchase orders and monitor inventory of supplies
- Handle hazardous waste disposal as part of job requirements and attend mandatory annual hazardous waste training meetings, demonstrating competency by passing the administered tests
- High school education or equivalent
- Five or more years of experience, including relative aseptic filling experience in pharmaceuticals, and knowledge of GMP compliance policies
- Knowledge and experience in aseptic filling processes along with equipment cleaning, preparation, and assembly
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) for reading, comprehending, and communicating GMP compliance documentation and SOPs
- Working knowledge of arithmetic functions for accurate calculations in product documentation
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
1–4 years
EducationAssociate degree (engineering is a plus, chemical or mechanical)
Skills- Associate / Bachelor's degree in engineering is a plus (chemical or mechanical)
- Experience in stopper prep, capping, and packaging preferred
