General Purpose of Position
The primary role of a Production Supervisor at the Eaton Paper Mill is to ensure the workplace is safe and to manage and coordinate the efforts of hourly mill employees; ensure that production specifications are met with a high standard of quality; ensure compliance with all standards, policies, regulations, for the safe, environmentally sound production of a quality product. The Production Supervisor plays a critical role in supporting Ox Industries culture and key behaviors.
In addition, as a shift supervisor, you will be responsible for oversight of work for all hourly production employees.
- Administers and models safety in his/her area of responsibility; participates in and enforces the safety program for the shift employees; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all shift employees. Ensures compliance with all applicable OSHA and plant safety standards.
- Coordinates maintenance activities on shift.
- Oversee and ensure the conformance of work in progress and finished good product to company, industry, and customer specifications at minimum cost and with optimum efficiency.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot production and quality related issues, determine root cause and implement sustainable solutions.
- Direct, train and coach employees.
- Direct and execute daily production requirements.
- Meet or exceed productivity goals.
- Maintain waste generation (trim, cull), at or below budgeted standard.
- Inspect the finished product to ensure quality specifications are met.
- Management of employees to include performance feedback, coaching for improvement and discipline, as appropriate.
- Maintain housekeeping excellence.
- Ensure all production and employee reporting is completed timely and accurately for each shift.
- Participate and ensure department remains compliant with industry and company audit standards.
- Maintains compliance with all environmental policies and procedures; ensures that all city, county, state, and federal regulations are followed.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1+ years in supervisory or management role.
- Experience in manufacturing environment—paper industry is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
