Machine Operator - 1st Shift | Bristol, IN (Main)

Regular Employee | Hourly Non-Exempt | $22.00 - $22.00

• Setup and operate sheet metal fabricating machines, such as press brakes, shears, turret punch presses, saws, and presses, to cut, bend, and form sheet metal according to blueprints and specifications.
• Work in a fast‑paced, high‑speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Perform necessary pre‑operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
• Operate and monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
• Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
• Perform the above within acceptable quality, quantity, performance, and safety standards.
• Maintain a valid forklift/stand‑up license—including completion of daily forklift maintenance log and proper maintenance of equipment.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP and bar code scanners systems.
• Responsible for maintaining inventory record accuracy through accurate stock transfers and cycle counts.
• Transport materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish tasks, including but not limited to pallet jack, forklift, stand‑up, and/or pac mule.

• Math skills including converting fractions to decimals.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to read a blueprint or be trained to read a blueprint.
• Problem‑solving skills.
• Capable of lifting 50 pounds and sliding 100 pounds without assistance.
• Maintain a clean department and keep surrounding work areas neat.
