Quality Technician Company InfoA growing automotive manufacturing company on the west side of Indianapolis is adding a Quality Technician due to continued business growth and expansion of its quality department. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, quality systems, inspections, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
Job Summary Support the facility's quality management system and customer quality requirements
Perform inspections, testing, and containment activities to ensure product quality
Manage and maintain calibration systems for inspection and measurement equipment
Conduct shipping audits to verify packaging, labeling, traceability, and documentation
Oversee non-conforming material processes and defect containment activities
Perform incoming inspections of raw materials and components
Support root cause investigations using tools such as 5 Whys and 8DAssist with internal audits, process audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain quality records and documentation
Collaborate with production, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality concerns
Support new product launches and sample part builds
Location
Indianapolis, IN Position Type Full-Time, Evaluation Hire Schedule Monday -Friday8:00 AM - 5:00 PMPay $26.00-$28.00 per hour
Qualifications
Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent quality/manufacturing experience preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality role preferred
Experience with quality systems and automotive manufacturing environments preferred
Knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plans preferred
Experience with calibration systems and measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers
Familiarity with SPC and basic data analysis
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Effective problem-solving and communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and quality management software
