Overview

General operation of Rod Mill.

Responsibilities

* Demonstrated commitment to safety through actions and behaviors

* Understanding of Molten Metal

* Pre op Setup ( Prep & Clean Launders, Inspect & Clean Pump well )

* Operation of Transfer pump

* Regulate Metal Flow

* Proper knowledge of Skimming

* Knowledge and use of Overhead Cranes

* Responsible for setting Pour off Pot & Putting under Preheat after Run is Complete

* Assist with Bar Handling & Casting Operations

* Light maintenance duties

* Assist in break down operations

* Prep Coils for Delivery

* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

* Must receive passing score on required testing

* Ability to make quick decisions in fast-paced, team-oriented work environment

* Possess a self-starter quality for seeking input and details from resources

* Solid mechanical aptitude and a desire to problem solve

* Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner

* Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events

* Must have good math skills, as well as oral and written communication skills

* Must be able to lift 60 pounds

* Possess a willingness to work in cold/hot outside conditions as well as hot inside conditions
