We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Technician to support automated manufacturing equipment and plant operations in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for someone with strong PLC troubleshooting experience who enjoys working directly with production and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
What You'll Do as an Electrical TechnicianAs an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment throughout the facility. You'll play a critical role in ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled automated manufacturing equipment
- Identify and resolve electrical, controls, and automation issues
- Support production and maintenance teams with machine downtime and equipment repairs
- Troubleshoot and modify PLC and HMI programs as needed
- Assist with installation, startup, and commissioning of new equipment
- Support VFD setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
- Assist with continuous improvement projects to increase equipment reliability and efficiency
- Maintain accurate documentation related to controls and electrical systems
- Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and production personnel to resolve equipment issues
- Experience troubleshooting electrical and automated manufacturing equipment
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLC platforms, including:
- Experience with Factory Talk View HMI systems preferred
- Knowledge of VFDs, motor controls, and industrial electrical systems
- Understanding of Ladder Logic and electrical schematics
- Experience with Device Net and Ethernet/IP networks preferred
- Experience with robotics, automation equipment, or Mitsubishi PLCs is a plus
- AutoCAD experience is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
