Polisher II

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for all metal finishing processes and ensuring that all required processes are completed to produce parts that meet quality and ISO standards.

• Polishing, deburring, tumble deburring, blasting, in-process cleaning of surgical instruments and implants.
• Inspects products to blueprint specifications.
• Utilizes and completes documentation, as required.
• Understands and follows policies and procedures.
• Trains Level I operators in respective work cell to assure good quality parts are being produced in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.
• Ensures general maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
• Complies with ISO policies and procedures.
• Troubleshoots problems associated with equipment, tooling, and processes.

• Overtime on an as needed basis.
• Assists supervisor, as needed.
• Assists in other departments, as needed.
• Once employee demonstrates competency in position, he/she may be required to train others in similar roles.

• Ability to use polishing lathes, suction or pressure blasters.
• Expert knowledge of blueprint reading and machinery limitations.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and to be team oriented.
• Excellent visual inspection ability. Sufficient manual dexterity to handle and manipulate delicate parts and measuring instruments.
• Analytical capabilities to interpret detailed and complex blueprints.
• Ability to operate inspection and measurement equipment.

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two years of previous experience in all aspects of metal finishing: stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and some polymers.

• Physical demands:
  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; and operate machinery and/or power tools. Occasionally use hand/fingers to grasp/pinch/grip; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl;
  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
• Work environment:
  Work performed in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
