OverviewOur client, a global leader in advanced manufacturing and powertrain technologies, is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Plant Maintenance to lead maintenance and reliability operations within a highly automated manufacturing facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a high‑impact leadership opportunity for a proven maintenance professional who thrives in complex manufacturing environments and has a passion for driving Operational Excellence, Lean Manufacturing, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
The successful candidate will inherit a large and diverse manufacturing operation consisting of approximately 450 fabrication and inspection assets plus over 400 assembly‑related systems, including CNC machining centers, gear manufacturing and finishing equipment, robotics and automated assembly systems, heat‑treat and induction hardening equipment, precision inspection and metrology systems, and automated washing and material handling equipment.
This is not a developmental role. We are seeking a hands‑on leader who can quickly assess current systems, identify opportunities, and drive meaningful change from day one. The Associate Director of Plant Maintenance is responsible for leading salaried and hourly maintenance teams in support of plant operations while championing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Operational Excellence initiatives. This leader will oversee maintenance strategy, preventive and predictive maintenance programs, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement efforts with the goal of improving equipment availability, reducing downtime, and building a world‑class maintenance organization.
RequiredExperience
- 10+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing maintenance teams in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading salaried and hourly maintenance personnel.
- Proven success implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience developing and managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Demonstrated success improving equipment reliability and maintenance KPIs.
- Strong background supporting CNC machining and automated manufacturing equipment.
- Experience in automotive, powertrain or transmission manufacturing, aerospace, defense, agricultural equipment, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
