Overview
Now Hiring 2nd shift Maintenance Tech in our Processing Plant in Orland, IN. We are a family-owned company that has been raising and processing organic and all-natural chicken with local farm families for over 30 years. We are vertically integrated and oversee every process within the company, from our chicks hatching at our family-owned hatchery, to owning two feed mills that process our corn and soybean meal mixture.
We strive to source feed ingredients from local farmers to minimize our carbon footprint and produce wholesome poultry for consumers.
Lubricate machinery, change parts, or perform other routine machinery maintenance. Responsible for maintaining and repairing the refrigeration and utility systems while complying with PSM and RMP guidelines. This position requires a candidate that has a strong attention to detail and is safety conscious.
Essential Functions- Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
- Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.
- Inspect or test damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs.
- Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures.
- Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
- Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair
- Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
- Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
- Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
- Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished.
- Collect and discard worn machine parts and other refuse in order to maintain machinery and work areas.
- Know and follow Miller Poultry Lock Out/Tag Out procedures
- Know all plant rules and GMPs
- Knowledge of safety rules
- Knowledge of first aid program
- Must know and pass all tests for:
Confined Space Entry, Hot Work Permit program, pallet jack, forklift, scissor lift, and LOTO - Must know animal welfare rules

Experience: Six months to one year related experience
Other Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license
Compensation: $22-28 pay based on experience.
