Job Description
This role offers the opportunity to perform hands‑on MIG welding and fabrication in a high‑volume manufacturing environment. You will work with heavy steel components, use a variety of hand and power tools, and contribute to the production of quality metal products on 1st or 3rd shift. The position suits individuals who enjoy building durable structures, working from blueprints, and collaborating with a team to meet production goals.
Responsibilities- Perform MIG welding on steel and metal components according to specifications and quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to complete welding and fabrication tasks accurately.
- Use tape measures and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure proper fit and alignment of parts.
- Manually handle and move materials and components weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
- Operate and safely use hand tools and power tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, and grinders.
- Grind and finish welds and metal surfaces to meet quality and appearance requirements.
- Assist with fitting and assembling structural components, sheet metal, and fabricated parts.
- Use hoists or other lifting equipment, when required, to position and secure heavy materials.
- Support other production and general labor tasks as needed to help the team meet project deadlines and production targets.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment, including participating in group efforts on larger projects.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Proven experience with MIG welding in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production drawings.
- Proficiency using a tape measure and other basic measuring tools with accuracy.
- Experience with general labor tasks in a production or industrial setting.
- Ability to manually lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Comfort using hand tools and power tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, and grinders.
- Familiarity with hoists or similar lifting equipment for handling heavy materials.
- Capability to perform grinding and finishing operations on metal components.
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail in all tasks.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in structural fabrication, fitting, or sheet metal work.
- Experience working in a heavy steel manufacturing environment.
- Comfort working in a production setting where temperatures can be high during the summer.
- Willingness to assist in various tasks across the production floor to support overall output.
- Flexibility to work 1st or 3rd shift as needed based on production demands.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
