Join Trane Technologies as a Manufacturing Engineer in Rushville, IN. In this role, you will operate innovative engineered systems and develop, coordinate, and implement sustainable manufacturing production processes.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures and be the first point of contact for line stoppage.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineering team with researching and specifying options for equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality to resolve production issues.
- Provide timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems, including investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning.
- Create cost‑effective and safe manufacturing processes, equipment, and tools to improve manufacturing operations.
- Design manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, and station controls that optimize efficiency, operating costs, and product quality.
- Uphold manufacturing standards including machine capability, process maps, set‑ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings, and cycle times.
- Generate work instructions, job breakdowns, and standardized work to ensure quality at the source meets product and manufacturing specifications given local needs.
- Serve as a voice of the customer for input for new design development.
- Partner with on‑site EHS to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA.
- 2+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Degree preferred in Engineering or related technical disciplines.
- Ability to accurately assess manufacturing issues related to process and design.
- Effective communication at multiple levels and ability to build relationships.
- Growth mindset – desire to expand technical skillset.
- Results‑driven to maintain accountability and customer focus.
- PFMEA experience preferred.
- Preferred experience with project management or project launch.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing (Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Poke‑Yoke, Value Stream Mapping, etc.).
- Ability to quickly determine root cause utilizing 8D and 5 why tools.
- Ability to quickly assess manufacturing issues related to design and tolerancing.
- Low/High Voltage knowledge and troubleshooting.
- PLC programming a plus.
