PRODUCTION MANAGER - Role Overview
Kwik Lok is looking for an innovative and inclusive leader to join our team as the Production Manager! This position reports directly to the Plant Manager, and helps ensure proper daily oversight of production operations and employees in a safety- and quality-focused manufacturing plant located in New Haven, Indiana.
This role will assist the Plant Manager in ensuring plant objectives are met; including but not limited to team leadership, safety, quality, production capacities, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, equipment efficiency, maintenance, shipping and receiving, and timely product launches. This role is committed to upholding Kwik Lok Corporation philosophies through dedication to continuing improvement of quality, food safety, integrity, manufacturing processes and hard work.
POSITIONRESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS Performance
- Assists with continuous improvement projects in areas such as customer satisfaction, employee safety, production efficiency, and waste reduction
- Participate as a member of the plant’s Food Safety Team, facilitating site compliance with all safety, health, and environmental laws, codes, and standards by adhering to GFSI food safety standards and other quality standards as required
- Oversee efficient equipment operations, maintenance, and repair
- Liaison with Customer Service and Sales teams to ensure on-time delivery and customer complaints are resolved per EB 7.5 and GFSI requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Kwik Lok production machines and product lines
- Communicate all relevant issues and updates to Plant Manager
- Assist Plant Manager with people leadership: set goals and clarify expectations, improve performance, and develop teams through 1-1 coaching and daily interaction with team members
- Manage and oversee the daily activities of employees ensuring policies and procedures are followed
- Build and sustain a culture where people are our most important asset - team members are highly engaged, clearly understand the company vision, and are valued for their contributions to their work and continuous improvement
- Build collaborative relationships between all departments to ensure maximum collaboration with the goal of improving products, increasing efficiencies, and improving quality
- Assist in innovation and process improvement, always looking for new ways of doing things; streamlining processes, and making recommendations that will allow for increased productivity with less time.
- Assist with the implementation of plans that support corporate strategic objectives as assigned
- 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated responsibility in a quality focused production setting– experience with plastics manufacturing preferred
- 5 years of supervisory experience;
Strong team building, leadership, decision-making, and people management skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office products, familiarity with ERP software
- Experience working with auditors, internal controls, continuous improvement, and compliance
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and background screening
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Demonstrates advocacy for change and continued process improvement - champions innovative ideas and encourages team members to try innovative approaches to solve key operational issues
- Facilitates consensus, resolves conflicts, and overcomes resistance from teams and individuals
- Coaches and mentors team members to maximize skills and talent; provides resources for team member development
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Effectively communicates with and relates to people at all levels within the organization; proactively communicates and collaborates with team members across departmental lines to achieve results
- Seeks feedback for personal development and accepts feedback - both positive and constructive - to improve skills and behaviors
- Pay scale: $75,000 - $82,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
