Tool Room Lead: Dies & Production Optimization

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Production Scheduler to prepare dies and tooling for production.
• Assign responsibilities to T&D makers based on production schedule requirements.
• Interpret specifications and blueprints during design review.
• Review and modify scheduled PM’s based on tooling and die repairs.
• Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality of product, working conditions or use of equipment or technology to increase plant efficiency and throughput.
• Analyze and resolve die / tool performance problems or assist others during press calls.
• Maintain time, attendance and production records, including all appropriate paperwork and tracking.
• Train new workers and apprentices.
• Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials.
• Purchase equipment for tools or die production and tool room and job ease.
• Perform other essential functions as assigned.
• Coordinate contract labor including quoting and PO.
• Monitor department performance for downtime, repairs, die/tool availability.
• Track employee skills, development, versatility and improvement.
• Lead Home line Run-Off (HLRO) activity for new product preparation and launch.
