Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. As Facility Manager over the River Metals yard, you'll own the safety, efficiency, and day-to-day rhythm of a high-volume scrap metal operation - keeping equipment running, teams aligned, and the yard moving.

Duties of the role include but are not limited to:
- Leads teams and directs day-to-day operations with a focus on maximizing production and profitability.
- Drives change with confidence - understands that continuous improvement isn't optional, it's how we operate.
- Reads, interprets, and enforces complex regulations across safety compliance, environmental standards, scrap purchasing, employee relations, and operational best practices.
- Selects, develops, and gets the best out of people from all walks of life to execute company objectives.
- Keeps the facility running at peak efficiency by staying ahead of operational bottlenecks and equipment reliability issues.
- Understands the bottom line - reads financial statements and knows how day-to-day decisions impact the operation's results.
What we're looking for:
Required:
- 5 years' operations, heavy industrial or manufacturing experience with demonstrated leadership ability and understanding of business management concepts required.
- 2 years of experience leading a team of production teammates
- Effective communication skills with people at all levels of employees within the organization.
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.
