Job Overview
The Process Technician is responsible for supporting the operations teams by performing mold set‑ups, troubleshooting, and corrective and preventive processing issues on plastics manufacturing machinery. This position reports to the Process Engineering Technician Supervisor and is part of the Plastics Manufacturing Engineering Team located in Indianapolis, IN. The role is on‑site.
Responsibilities- Perform process troubleshooting, mold and cell setup, as well as corrective and preventive tasks on injection molding machines, blow molding machines, automation handling equipment, temperature control units, mold controllers, material loaders, resin dryers, air compressors, chillers, and other plastics processing and support equipment.
- Process, mold, EOAT, and cell set‑ups tasks independently, handling various types of injection molding machines and injection blow‑molding machines. Troubleshoot and correct unplanned downtime events, coordinate with operations, and address complex mold and machine issues.
- Work closely with machine operators, process technicians, supervisors, and maintenance staff.
- Associate’s degree with at least one year of experience in a related field.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, multimeter, tensiometer, and precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Strong problem‑solving skills, willingness to learn, good communication skills, and ability to collaborate as part of a team.
