Converting Trainer | North Vernon | HIRING IMMEDIATELY

7AM - 3PM Monday
- Friday; 7PM - 3AM Monday
- Friday
Compensation: $25.00 + $1.50/hr shift differential for nights
Responsibilities- Understand and follow all safety procedures
- Train new and existing machine operators and Tenders on the safe and efficient operation of high-speed bag converting equipment
- Provide hands-on instruction for setup, operation, troubleshooting, and minor maintenance of machinery
- Ensure all training is aligned with job analyses (JSA), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality standards
- Evaluate trainee competency and certify operators upon successful completion of training requirements
- Reinforce adherence to all safety programs, policies, and regulatory requirements
- Support quality assurance by training operators on product specifications and inspection processes
- Collaborate with production leadership to identify skill gaps and develop training plans to improve performance
- Maintain accurate training records, documentation, and certification logs
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of training materials and procedures
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement on the production floor
- Support onboarding activities, including orientation and job-specific training for new hires
- Participate in audits, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives
- A high school diploma or GED required; technical training or associate degree preferred
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including a background check
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastic converting or similar industry
- Prior experience operating and/or training on high-speed industrial equipment required
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures, job safety analyses (JSA), and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and mentor employees in a manufacturing setting
- Commitment to an accident-free and drug-free workplace
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse teams
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work instructions, and quality specifications
- Basic troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude required
- Must be able to work flexible shifts, overtime, and support production needs as required
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
