Picture this: you receive a complex print calling for compound indexing, precise bores, and flawless threads in a demanding alloy. At Mi-Tech Tungsten Metals, that’s your canvas. You’ll take responsibility from setup through inspection, transforming drawings, templates, and layouts into production-ready parts by cutting, drilling, milling, boring, and broaching—independently.

Your mission

Run manual lathes end-to-end: set machine heads, change chucks, sweep the table, and dial in fixtures without supervision.

Plan and sequence work directly from mechanical drawings and technical documentation.

Perform OD/, tapping, threading, and reaming to exact dimensions and finishes.

Execute face, angular, form, straddle, and gang milling with confidence.

Apply the full range of indexing methods—direct, simple/plain, compound, differential, and angular—and solve the math behind each division.

Indicate vises and work pieces, validate setups, and coordinate complex, multi-operation jobs.

Mastery of machine tools and manual machining methods, with a quality-first mindset.

Expertise with accessories and attachments: arbors, adapters, collets, vises, circular/rotary tables, indexing heads and tail stocks, vertical milling attachments.

Pro-level metrology: calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, and comparators.

Physical strength, dexterity, and steady hand–eye coordination.

Analytical problem-solving and teamwork.

Required background2–5 years of manual machining experience in a manufacturing environment.

Strong math aptitude for precision layouts and indexing calculations.

Preferred education

Sandvik Coromant Academy, Metal Cutting Technology (or similar coursework)
NMIS certifications in machine technologies (or equivalent)
Shop environment & equipment

Manual Lathe and Manual Vertical Mill Manual Grinder and Surface GrinderCNC Lathe (2–4 axis)
