Summary
Indiana Packers Corporation is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Rendering department on the 2nd shift. The Rendering Supervisor oversees the rendering process, operating procedures, and working conditions, supervising team members in a processing environment to ensure daily production and quality targets are achieved and that products meet company, customer, and government specifications.
Responsibilities- Lead the activities of the team members in the production of quality products in accordance with established and accepted company criteria.
- Implement and maintain safety standards throughout the area of responsibility as required by law and company policy.
- Direct and implement job‑related training for all team members while ensuring company job‑rotation minimums are met.
- Use strong communication skills to coach and guide team members, resolve employee issues, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and followed.
- Create and foster a high‑morale workplace with the highest ethical standards by treating all members with dignity and respect.
- Manage the completion of production schedules as determined by the superintendent or designee.
- Ensure all proper processing procedures (quality, safety, etc.) are adhered to without compromise.
- Maintain discipline and accountability for team members while pursuing company and customer goals.
- Monitor and take timely improvement actions necessary to meet production quality and quantity goals.
- Apply problem‐solving techniques, teamwork strategies, and process‑control tools to meet or exceed the production schedule.
- Facilitate workflow management, workforce scheduling, and placement to ensure facility and company goals are met or exceeded.
- Conduct, lead, or implement appropriate process audits; identify the need for containment, corrective, and preventive actions to minimize or eliminate process deviations and non‑conforming product root causes.
- Maintain team compliance with company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping through fair and consistent accountability methods.
- Work with other supervisors daily to ensure the facility operates at the highest level of efficiency.
- Assist with pre‑operation activities as directed.
- Perform other duties as needed or required.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- 1+ years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably meat processing.
- Mechanical aptitude to direct and delegate the resolution of mechanical equipment issues.
- Knowledge of USDA and HACCP procedures.
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs in extreme heat.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, humid, and odorous environments.
- Flexibility to work on a variety of shifts, extensive overtime, including weekends.
- Good computer literacy and ability to write clear and concise reports.
- Results‑driven and employee‑oriented.

This position is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, which may include verification of employment, education, criminal background, driving history, and other relevant information, conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Work EnvironmentThe employee is occasionally exposed to extreme conditions, including fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, loud noise requiring hearing protection, cold, hot, and outdoor conditions with inclement weather, heat, humidity, and dust. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in extreme temperature environments.
Physical DemandThe position involves lifting heavy objects, walking, standing for long periods, and carrying objects. It requires the use of abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support, good manual dexterity, coordination of arms and legs, and excellent stamina and vision.
