Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities:

* Ability to work in a safe manner and to identify if equipment is safe to operate.

* Complete paperwork and computer transactions with attention to detail

* Operate and read digital scales

* Ability to troubleshoot computer issues when the need arises

* Occasionally schedule trucks and process dock receipts

* Maintain Kanban board within the department

* Operate a skid wrapper machine

* Responsible for completing inventory transactions and maintaining accurate inventories

* Drive a stand-up Raymond, tugger, order picker and operate a forklift truck, which may work at different heights

* Load and unload trucks by forklift or hand loader and keep required documentation

* Ability to train, instruct and assist other department employees, as needed

* Use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions within recognized procedures

* Proceed on work assignments with minimum supervision and assistance

* Ability to keep their work area clean and follow 5S standards

* Ability to work within high performance team guidelines (HPT)

* Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

* Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner, that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment

* Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk

* Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately

* Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner

* Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and

5-S projects

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

* Able to operate mobile, mechanical equipment in compliance with OSHA standards

* Complete certification and be issued a forklift and equipment license

* Basic computer skills

* Good verbal and written communication skills

Education and Experience:

* Minimum High School diploma or equivalent

* Preferred:
Associates degree or working towards a degree
