Position SummaryYou’ll join an engaged, multi‑disciplinary team of engineers who will help you understand the system security landscape and gain exposure to its many dimensions. The role is based in the Electrical, Electronics, Software, Control System Design and System Security (E24S) capability group. This group sits within Rolls‑Royce Engineering, Technology and Safety – the central home for engineering expertise across the group.
The E24S group is made up of a diverse team of engineers specialising in traditional and model‑based software, systems, electronics, electrical power and system security. They work collaboratively across design, integration, testing, in‑service support and supply chain management to meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities- Product security engineers are involved at all stages of the project lifecycle – from concept development and design, through integration and component testing, to final production release.
- Support the design of secure systems and applications.
- Identify threats and assess cyber risks.
- Investigate vulnerabilities and security incidents.
- Develop and implement security policies, processes and procedures.
- Conduct various types of security testing to ensure product resilience.
- Strong interpersonal skills, intellectual curiosity and the ability to solve problems using analytical and critical thinking.
- Interest in cyber security and cyber threats, particularly as they relate to cyber‑physical systems.
- Knowledgeable about or interested in embedded systems and the technical skills required to develop, implement and secure them.
- Curious about novel and emerging technology solutions and how they might be used to enhance – or degrade – the security of a system.
- Outcome‑focused with good problem‑solving abilities, including an aptitude for finding practical solutions to complex technical problems.
- Collaborative and curious, with good communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in a concise and logical way.
- Behavioural attributes: safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference.
Relevant majors:
Educated to degree level in a STEM subject, including Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering.
Standing/Graduation eligibility:
You will receive your degree between December
2025 and August
2026.
Work authorization eligibility:
Ability to work in the U.S. with indefinite work authorization. No sponsor ships are available for this role.
$75,640 – $79,422 annually.
