CNC Maintenance Technician

The CNC Maintenance Technician will support preventive maintenance and repair activities for CNC equipment at the Indianapolis Life Science Products site. The role involves performing electrical and mechanical work, using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and infrared scanners, inspecting equipment per manufacturer requirements, and ordering replacement parts as needed. The technician will troubleshoot complex issues involving hydraulics, electronics, and software while collaborating with contractors and other maintenance personnel to resolve problems efficiently.

The job also requires tracking and documenting work orders, conducting testing, and making precise adjustments to keep CNC machinery operating reliably.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Manufacturing/Process Engineering and is part of Beckman Coulter Life Science Manufacturing in Indianapolis, IN. The role is on‑site.

• Perform advanced mechanical maintenance, analysis, and repair on CNC machines and supporting manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Execute predictive and preventive maintenance and recommend equipment improvements to enhance safety, quality, and uptime.

• Associate's degree and 2+ years of experience working with CNC machinery and/or repairs or troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
• Physical ability to lift 25 lb, stand for several hours, and perform repetitive arm/wrist motions.

• Good communication, time management, and organizational skills; ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience in the medical industry or machinery relocation and installation, welding, and fabrication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
